Sep 29/2020 Getsegukla – Burns Lake

Second day no rain. Cloudy but it gets better. We did stop at the Visitor Center for Hazelton at the Highway. CLOSED For the season. Same as Provincial Parks in B.C. CLOSED for the season. That is a mistake in the Yukon and B.C. The so called “season” is too short.  First people travel in April/ last people travel in Nov. We do not need the Visitor Center but keep the parks open so we have a place where we can park the RV. We do not need service like firepits or litter barrels. Lock them up if you like. Keep the outhouse open, we have or own shit paper. Last night we found a nice empty spot. There was a post, which usually holds that “No camping or overnight parking” sign, haha….. Somebody must have taken this off, so we felt good to stay. The landscape opens more up as we are away from the mountains and coastline. Now we have some more hay fields and so on. Back to Old Hazelton. We did visit this dead town. Not one person walking on the road or driving. ONE dog. All closed up. Burns Lake looks a bit nicer. See ya,,,,,oh, one black bear today
